PERSONALITY:
Freyr seems quite cold and quiet, but if you really know him, you know that he is not just that. He doesn't like showing his feelings to anyone that much, only the ones he's really close to.
The feeling he can't hide is frustration. It's quite easy to make him more or less angry, and he has given up on hiding that feeling. He can become angry about almost anything, and being teased is something he really can't bear. He might actually take offense for real and start sulking or leave. But he doesn't really like fighting, usually he's just being too stubborn to apologise or admit that he was wrong.
But it's even easier to make him embarrassed than frustrated. You might see him flushed every day, simply because someone has said or done something that really embarrasses him. Usually making him embarrassed leads to making him frustrated, and then he will snap at you. But his snapping is nothing scary, just amusing.
Even though he's mostly like this, it's not always just sulking and being embarrassed. He is a very emotional person, and he usually feels simply helpless and indecisive, even though he hates it. He knows he's weak, but when someone tells him he's weak, he'll snap anyway.
On the other side, he might say that some things are 'embarrassing' even though he really likes them. He doesn't always just give you the blank face or try to glare at you behind his blush; he can actually smile and laugh too, but rarely. He only does this with someone who he's really close to.
HISTORY:
Freyr was born in Reykjavík, Iceland, but soon after his birth the little family moved to a small village near the capital. He was the firstborn and never got any younger siblings, which sometimes made him feel a little bit lonely. Luckily all of the kids in the village knew each other, so he had a nice amount of friends. His parents also loved him and each other very much, so his childhood was happy. The fact that he was a animal-human was never a problem to other kids, but his parents were trying to hide it, no matter how nice and understanding the people in the village were. They knew he couldn't live there forever, so they were trying to enjoy the days in the village while looking for a good solution.
His parents had decided that Freyr should probably be simply homeschooled, but they didn't like this idea, they wanted him to go to a real school to prevent him from becoming completely isolated.
Then his mother's sister told them that a friend of her friend's sister had heard about a boy who had a similar problem. He had gone to a school for these kind of people. Hearing this made his parents happy until they heard about the school's location. It was far away, but they really wanted their son to go to a real school instead of being homeschooled, especially if the school was full of kids that had had these animal characteristics too. He could easily make friends there.
Freyr himself was a little bit unsure about going there. He had always lived in the small village with his parents, and now he was supposed to move to Japan all alone. He had already become shyer than he used to be, so he was afraid that he wouldn't make any friends. Regardless, his parents had decided that he needed to go there, so they talked about it a lot, sometimes fought, sometimes just talked about the upsides and downsides for hours.
After eight months Freyr was ready to leave. He had though about moving very much, and finally decided that it would be a great challenge. And he wouldn't give up.
ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE:
Freyr sighed, staring at the open window. It was cold in the room, but he was too lazy to stand up and close the window. He had been procrastinating all day, just sitting there, on the floor in his room and looking around.
He'd leave early tomorrow. He'd move to Japan and go to a weird school full of weird people. He had informed his parents that he had changed his mind, that he was ready to go ages ago, and just a couple of weeks ago he had still been sure that this was a great opportunity to become more independent. But now he was doubting again. What if? What if he couldn't make any friends? What if he wouldn't have time for anything else because of school, it was Japan after all? What if he'd realise that he couldn't do this and that he had to give up? What if his plane would crash? What if a giant liquorice monster would appear and eat the world?
He sighed again, shaking his head. Thinking of these kinds of things just made him more nervous. He just had to believe that everything would be just fine and he'd definitely make some friends in Japan. Yes, he wouldn't be alone...
His mother came in to the room and asked if he had finished packing his things already. Freyr simply shook his head, still staring at the window. His mother sighed and left, telling him that he could come to the living room if he wanted to talk. He got up and decided that he shouldn't think this much, he should just pack now and then go to sleep. Without thinking about moving. But he was so nervous, he barely could even focus on deciding what he should take with him and which things were better left here. He had already gone through most of his things yesterday, but there was still a nice amount of clothes lying around and he could only take a few books with him so he had to choose his favourites carefully. It was kind of sad somehow, since he had owned some of those books for a long time.
It took him a couple of hours to choose the clothes and the books (15 minutes for choosing the clothes; rest for choosing the books) and he was truly ready to fall asleep right there on the floor, even though it wasn't even that late. Then he realized that he was freezing because he never closed the window. Smacking his own head, he closed the window and opened his closet, looking for an extra blanket. He dropped it on his bed, turned off the lights and laid down, pulling the blankets over himself.
He was still afraid.
